Volleyball sports meeting

Everyone who is interested in the volleyball program at either the high school or middle school level for the 2013 season should plan to meet on Wednesday, May 22, at 12:35 in the dining hall. Important information will be shared regarding expectations, fitness, playing opportunities and tryout dates. If you are unable to attend the meeting but wish to get future information from the coaching staff, email Coach Tatum at This email address is being protected from spambots. Block Party volunteers needed

Parents, we need volunteers for the Block Party next Thursday, May 30. We need several to help with the cook out from noon to 1:30. We also need a couple of parents to supervise at each of the following activities from 12:30-5:30: water-slide, corn-hole tournament, softball game, volleyball tournament, water-gun battle and dunking booth. Boys’ soccer meeting

There will be a boys’ high school soccer meeting on Tuesday, May 21, at 3 p.m. in Room 121.

Sixth Grade Celebration

The Sixth Grade End of Year Celebration be will at Olive Hill Park on Friday, May 24, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Parents should drop off and pick up students at Olive Hill that day.  Look for more information coming home soon from the sixth grade team.

Join High School Student Council

Any current 8th, 9th, 10th, or 11th grade students interested in joining RCS High School Student Council for the 2013-2014 school year need to pick up an application form from Mrs. Boston, Room 204, or from the front desk. The application should be turned in to Mrs. Boston by Friday, May 24.  Current student council members also need to fill out an application and turn it in to indicate that they want to continue as members.

Senior Recognition Ceremony

The Senior Recognition Ceremony will be held Thursday, May 23, at 6 p.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Hurdle Mills.

Begin turning in School Laptops this week

Students may start returning the school’s laptops on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Technology team members will be in the library every day from May 22 through May 30, starting at 12:30 p.m. Please go to the check-in line that has your grade listed. We ask that students turn in their laptops after they take their last Exam/EOC/EOG. ALL LAPTOPS MUST BE HANDED IN BEFORE STUDENTS LEAVE SCHOOL FOR SUMMER BREAK (May 30). Instructions on how to turn in computers will be sent tomorrow.
