Class of 2013 Achieves Several 'Firsts'
On Friday, May 31, 58 people became the latest Roxboro Community School graduates. This class of young people achieved several firsts.
Trent Yarborough, class of 2013 valedictorian, achieved the school's first score of five on the AP calculus exam.
Two members of the class, Paris Ahrens-Nichols and Molly Tatum, were the first in the school's seven-year history to sign letters of intent to play college sports.
Yarborough also received the highest scholarship award, of $108,000, in the school's short history. As a whole, the class was awarded over $600,000 in scholarships.
Yarborough's brother, Lance, will soon travel the farthest of any RCS graduate to attend college, when he goes to the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
