
Keegan Storrs, or "Profe," as he's known to students, is the RCS Teacher of the Year for 2021-2022. Storrs has taught high school Spanish at RCS since 2016. He leads the annual RCS in Spain trip, lends his musical talents to school productions, and is a true team player, according to RCS High School Principal Darkarai Bryant. Congratulations, Profe! The RCS JV baseball team finished its season 9-0. We are #bulldogproud of you guys!


RCS honored six retirees at its 2021 closing meeting on June 2. Mike Czysz, Pete Tuck and Eric Swanson retired last year, but the school was unable to recognize them then, due to the pandemic. They were honored this week, along with Sherri Slade, Laura Stoute and Teresa Elliott, who retired this year. We thank each of the retirees for their service to RCS and wish them well in retirement.




EmergeOrtho is offering $10 Sports Physicals on Wednesday, June 9, 6-8 p.m. at multiple locations around the Triangle. Cash or check only. Student-athletes should fill out the medical history portion of the physical form, signed and dated by a parent/guardian. ALL proceeds are donated back to the school!

Caroline Cates, a rising eighth grader at RCS, has won first place in the North Carolina Career Development Association's Poetry and Poster Contest. The theme is "My Future Career -- Imagine the Possibilities." Caroline's poem will be entered into the national competition and winners there will be announced later this spring. Congratulations, Caroline! We are #bulldogproud of you!

High school students, if you ordered a high school yearbook, and did not get it on the day they were handed out, please pick it up before May 28. Remote students may get theirs from the front vestibule. In-person students should come to room 220.


The senior trip to Busch Gardens is this Friday, May 21. The park hours are 2-10 p.m. Tickets will be distributed at the park. Meet Mrs. Clayton at the park entrance between 1:45 and 2:15 to receive your reserved tickets and meal vouchers.
As a reminder, the parking fee is $25/vehicle and you will want to bring money for concessions. Enjoy your day at Busch Gardens Williamsburg!

This afternoon, around 5:30, several streets (including Main) will be temporarily closed for the Seniors Parade. A short duration is expected for these closures and traffic delays should be minimal; however, parents who have attended the middle school girls' soccer game at RCS may need to take a different route when leaving.


May 20, 21, and May 24 - May 28, will be Dollar Jeans Days. The $1 per day donations will support Instructional Technology.
