Due to PSAT testing, the HOSA meeting has been changed to Wednesday, October 26 at 7:35am and 12:20pm. Students should attend the meeting that best fits their schedule.

RCS 1st Round Volleyball NCHSAA Playoffs will be Saturday, October 22.
Bear Grass Charter School at Roxboro Community School at 4 pm. Admission is $7. ***RCS Athletic Passes are not permitted.


Come join us for the first ever RCS Student Council Fall Festival on November 5, from 5 to 7 pm in the multipurpose room.


The High School Journalism Club will meet Wednesday, November 2, immediately after school, in room 220. Members will be asked to help with a small but important yearbook project.


High school boys' basketball workouts today, Thursday, October 20, will be at the RCS Gym from 3:30 to 5 pm. (NOT at Helena)


RCS Cross Country finished 3rd place for girls and 5th place for boys in the Conference Finals Tuesday, led by seniors Josh Bobbitt and Alexandra Winstead. RCS was voted by Conference Coaches for the Sportsmanship Award. The team offered thanks to Morgan VanderPoppen, who saw the need for a fifth girl to qualify the team to compete and stepped up to help make the season a success. Coach Tommy Winstead said, "Beverly Hicks and I are proud Bulldog Coaches!" RCS will compete in the regionals at Cary Soccer Park on October 29.

Sewing Club members enjoyed making scrunchies this week! We meet again on Wednesday, October 26 from 3-4:30 in room 106. Come learn with us. No experience is needed!




Past, present and future RCS softball players spoke to the Roxboro Rotary Club today about what the club’s support for a new softball field would mean to them. We are incredibly #bulldogproud of Carlie White, Zane Lappin, Karrie Obie, Maci Clark and Jillian Allen.

Max Dallas from State Employees Credit Union spoke with personal finance students this week about money management and loans. Mrs. Jill Clayton said, "I am very thankful to have the support of our local citizens and businesses in helping us prepare RCS students to be productive members of society."

High school boys' basketball tryouts will be Monday, October 24 from 3:30 to 5 pm at the RCS Gym. Interested athletes must have physical and all other athletic packet info uploaded to https://www.dragonflymax.com/. If you are playing another sport and unable to attend the tryout, please contact Coach Bettendorf at bettendorfjl@roxborocs.org. There will also be OPTIONAL workouts at Helena Gym (295 Helena-Moriah Rd Timberlake, NC 27583) Monday, October 17 -- Thursday, October 20, 4-6 pm.

Friday, October 21 will be a Jeans Day and everyone is asked to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. HOSA will be passing out pink ribbons again this year. The $2 donation for Jeans Day will go toward the 9th Grade Field Trip.


There will be no middle school softball practice tomorrow, Wednesday, October 19.


Bulldog Blooms planted perennials in the pollinator garden this afternoon and spread pine needles. Preparing for winter and looking forward to spring!




HOSA is creating a Ribbon Wall for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Ribbons can be dedicated to any individual that has been diagnosed with breast cancer. If you would like to submit a name for the Ribbon Wall please contact Mrs. Jill Clayton in Room 403 (claytonjc1@roxborocommunityschool.org) or any HOSA member.
